Hi, She is currently on Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein. Was on Science Diet (which Iā€™ll never use again). The vet also has her on Proviable-Forte, paste & capsules. She has been on the Proviable-Forte several times too. All stool samples come back clear.

Trying this Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein route, (only temporary) but looking for a replacement ā€œDryā€ dog food and wanted to see if ā€œWhole Grainā€ should be considered or ā€œGrain Freeā€ in my choices.

My dog (Lab/Golden mix) has been on Science Diet Large Breed and Adult Science Diet and Iā€™m never going to use it again. Nothing but problems! Poop is always soft. Vet has her on Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein right now and plus paste to try and help. Iā€™m also looking for a second opinion too! Very frustrated to say the least. I have never had a dog with this much soft stools.

Hi Kenneth A ā€“ Thanks again for your feedback. We unfortunately donā€™t have a ā€œPet Peopleā€ here. I live in Peoria, AZ. Looks like right now, ā€œChewy.comā€ is who I can get the Zignature from. Not sure yet on the Fromm.

We do however have a ā€œPet Plantā€, but they donā€™t say on their website what they carry, so Iā€™m going to stop by and see. Almost done with the Science Diet though (thank goodness).

The Vet did want her to start taking ā€œRoyal Canine ā€“ Hydrolyzen Proteinā€ (with nothing else, not even treats) to try and settle her tummy down. (My daughter has a ā€œPuggle Mixā€, who is on the Royal Canine too and lives with us). I didnā€™t want to switch again, but I will once I see if this is helping at all). Vet claims she should get getting better by Friday and wants a report too.

Right now, I think Iā€™m going with ā€œZignature Zessentialā€ from everything Iā€™ve read on it.
I did notice that it has more meat protein too. I like that it is for all ages (including puppy). Iā€™m still doing my homework on Fromm too.

    Iā€™ll keep you posted.

Hello, Thanks for the greatly appreciated feedback. I will keep you all posted.

zcRiley ā€“ We have already done the Proviabal (2-day paste, 10 day probiotic pill sprinkled over food), plus the antibiotics) and poor thing, her soft stools ALWAYS come back. šŸ™ Her poop sample has been tested a couple of times and nothing comes back bad. However, I will look into testing for ā€œClostridiumā€ as suggested. Hadnā€™t hear about that until you suggested it zcRiley. Thank you! I will check out the Zignature Zessentials, dry grain free kibble for all ages. Can you tell me where to buy that? I donā€™t see any info. for it on advisor.

I canā€™t immediately stop feeding what she was on because I need slowly go to feeding another brand, from everything I hear and read. Itā€™s too hard on their tummy if you do. I will tell all of you thisā€¦ā€¦Science Diet is going away and as soon as I can!!

Patricia A ā€“ I will also check out Fromm Four Star Nutritionals. Thank you!! I didnā€™t know that grain-free food would have a higher fat either, so I appreciate that information as well.

Kenneth A ā€“ Thank you for your feedback as well and I you already answered my question to zcRiley about where to buy! Iā€™ll check out the pet store today! Thank you so much!!

I will provide feedback as soon as possible (promise). I REALLY appreciate everyoneā€™s involvement and ā€œLaceyā€ canā€™t thank you enough either!! Woof!! šŸ™‚

Hi Tina, When I pulled down from the Editorā€™s choice list, I didnā€™t see this one? (Wellness Super 5Mix Large Breed Puppy). Only two came up for dry. Is that why?
