Amy SMember
I have a 11yrs old Maltese he is current on S/O but he hates the food, preferred to starved himself rather than eating the S/O, any suggestions?
zcRileyMemberAvoid foods with Brewers Rice, Chicken By-Product Meal, Pork Fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid), Corn Gluten Meal, Dried Egg Product, Calcium Sulfate, Lactic Acid, Chicken Liver Flavor. Do not feed vet prescription food.
Cleanse the body by fasting for a day before introducing new food. Lotsa water. Two to three weeks of ZiwiPeak dog food (lamb formula is the best). Do urinalysis at the vet. Switch to a kibble like Zignature Zssentials.
PitloveMemberHi Amy-
Does your vet offer another brand for a urinary support diet? Hill’s, Purina? They may have a food with better palatability. Purina especially.
If you want to try an OTC food please consult your vet before making any changes, not an internet forum. Best of luck!
Amy SMemberHi pitlover, my vet insisted he stay on S/O
Amy SMemberHi zcRiley, thank you for the advice.
