I’m planning out my dog’s diet, and I would really like to add in some veggies/berries for additional nutrients (I know dogs are carnivores, but I feel as if a small amount of veggies would be beneficial, or at the very least provide some roughage, lol). I’ve come up with a rough idea of the veggies & amounts I’d like to incorporate, but I was wondering….what if he doesn’t like them? He’s never been much interested in anything that isn’t meat.
So…would it be safe/possible to add meat into the veggie mix to entice him? I was thinking a few ounces of beef heart, perhaps.
This is kinda my rough sketch of what I would make. We have an organic garden, so I’d like to add things from it as produce comes into season. Toby is a 13lb Maltese, looking to get him down to around 11lbs. The eggs come from my flock of backyard chickens (Toby’s best friends) I was thinking around 3 cubes (would use an icecube tray) per week.
TOBY VEGGIE CUBES
1/4 Cup Chopped Parsley
1/2 Can Pumpkin
1/2 Bag Spinach
1 Zucchini
Bunch Kale
1/4 Berries
1/4 Cup Cranberries
1/2 Cup Greek Yogurt
Tbsp Turmeric
2 Whole Eggs w/ Shell
1/4 Cup ACV
1/4 Cup Coconut Oil
6oz Beef Heart -
