My blue healer/terrier has cushings disease. She is on vetoryl 30 mg daily. She has lost weight and now weighs 24 lbs. I would like to get her on a healthy food. Vet said I have to be careful of salt in the food. He carries science diet and hills. I don’t see in the list. Anyone know of any good food to put her on?
zcRileyMemberZiwiPeak, any formula. Try a small bag from Chewy.com. The less processed the food the better for your pup.
Jane EMemberWhen was the last time you had a her cortisol level checkedā¦she may need an adjustment on dosageā¦thinking less. I say this because my 52# Boxer who had Cushings was well controlled on 15MG of Vetoryl. I had it compounded so the doses could be given twice a day which is optimal. I home cooked for her ,I also used Honest Kitchen. I think overall the less processing a food goes through the better assimilated it is…
Sherry SMemberShe was just tested again a week ago and vet said meds are where they need be. So I guess you think I should get Honest Kitchen?
Thank you. -
