ParticipantNoticed this is appearing in a lot of wet dog foods now. I cannot find a specific definition of what exactly it is ( I see it in my own groceries too and have stopped buying those products when I can). Merricks and Taste of The Wild was my choice of wet food for my 10yrold Dog but now Kasiks is what She gets because the Ingredients are clean and no Natural Flavors. Anyone know why this is now put into so many Dog Foods? I look to Dog Food Advisor for for recommendations and many of the top choices contain this. There is no definitive answer that I can find to see if its actually a healthy additive. What I did find was “In fact these flavor mixtures can be made up of over 100 chemicals. Things like solvents, emulsifiers, flavor enhancers, and preservatives can make up 80% to 90% of natural flavors, causing them to stray far from their original ânaturalâ source”
