This is an email I got from chewy.com regarding Fromm dog food which I feed to my dog. If you order from chewy.com, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE contact Fromm and tell them not to cut ties with chewy.com when it comes to selling and delivering our pet foods. Their email and phone number are at the end of the email. Thanks.
Iām sorry to let you know that Fromm Family Foods will no longer be available at Chewy and will only be available while supplies last. Fromm has decided to limit their distribution and will no longer service Chewy customers.
I am very disappointed by Fromm’s decision to end their retail partnership with us because it greatly impacts you, our customer. Their business decision to limit distribution was clearly not in the best interest of customers like you, who have come to rely on Chewy to feed your furry family.
When I founded our company my mission was simple, deliver the highest quality products at the best prices and provide an unmatched customer experience. We have always put our customers and their pets at the center of everything we do. Thatās why we have the most knowledgeable customer service representatives in the industry dedicated to providing best-in-class customer service and adding personal touches to online shopping with handwritten cards and hand-painted portraits of your pets.
Itās particularly upsetting that despite all of my companyās efforts and personal relationships throughout the years, Fromm has decided that they will no longer service our customers.
I urge all customers who are affected by this to personally contact Fromm directly to let them know you rely on the convenience of delivery and value the personalized service you receive from Chewy. Unfortunately, for many of you this decision will result in your inability to get these products in a convenient way. Please encourage Fromm to put their customers and their pets first.

Fromm has always been a company that wants to support independent pet stores first and foremost. So are a lot of the other companies like Tuffy’s, and Champion, that have pulled their business from chewy.com because of the PetSmart buyout. Find a local store that carries Fromm and support them. They will offer you a loyality program for Fromm where you purchase 12 bags and get your 13th bag free and you are helping to keep a family run shop in business.
anonymousMemberIf Zignature drops Chewy I will cancel my auto-ship.
I have a feeling they will……..I do buy from a local pet supply store from time to time, the dog food prices are comparable, but the other stuff like dog shampoos, leashes, harnesses, beds…not so much.
I find the same products (brand and all) much cheaper online.LoveMyGSMemberI am having the same issue now thanks to the acquisition of Chewy.com. I have been feeding my dog Orijen and a little bit of Fromms. Does anyone know of another site trusted like Chewy.com that still handles and sells both these products. I am at a total loss what to do. I will not change my dogs food to another due to she has a sensitive stomach. Neither of these products are readily available in my area, and thanks to you all and Dog Food advisor I was able to research years ago what food would be best for our baby and she is doing beautifully on it. Now what to do, where to find it, please help. Thank you!!!
anonymousMemberMy vet suggested Amazon for dog food and supplies, I don’t think he would have suggested it if it was not legit, they do a lot of business, so I’m sure the food moves along quickly.
Also, if you go to the pet food site in question they will tell you where you can purchase it locally and often they have an 800 number if you would prefer to speak to someone.
Also, just call all the pet supply stores in your area and check.LoveMyGSMemberI just found a site after posting the above message…does anyone know the reputation of http://www.petflow.com ? They appear to carry both the foods I feed…
anonymousMemberLoveMyGSMemberThank You anon101. I read the bbb.org link on them, very interesting, however I had to think, most folks only use the bbb to complain not to praise. (minus the two who stated positive things) I will keep searching, and hope that something like chewy.com shows up. In the meantime, I did have to order from them, per my pup needed food. I didn’t have them do the auto ship thing, so that might be a plus till I learn more about their practices. I do so much thank you for your link and advice about looking at Amazon for the food. Amazon was a few dollars more, but not enough to make me not purchase from them. Again, thank you so very much!
anonymousMemberPetflow prices are similar to Chewy. I may end up there too, we’ll see.
I agree, the reviews were mixed.crazy4catsParticipantI have ordered from PetFlow when they have had a great sale on something I feed with no issues. However, their automatic deliveries are nowhere as flexible as Chewy’s. They are also more “pushy”. I get a lot more emails from them. But, like I mentioned, the transactions went fine.
FugazzziiMemberI use both Petflow and Chewy, I find they are pretty interchangeable.
LoveMyGSMemberThank you so much annon101, crazy4cats and Fugazzzii – I wish us all the best in finding our food for our family members. Best of luck to all and if something better comes up or one of us finds a better place, prayerfully we will post it here for the others to find. Blessing to you all and your lovable fur babies!
InkedMarieMemberI used both PetFlow and PetFoodDirect before Chewy with no problems. my only problem site was, I think (been awhile) DoggieFood dotcom.
Anne BMemberI had a bad experience with PetFlow about four years ago and that is how I found Chewy.com. Chewy.com has been a pleasure to deal with these last four years but now I am looking for an equally agreeable online source. Four years is a long time so I suppose I will try one or the other again. According to the Champion Pet Food website, Amazon is not considered an Authorized Dealer.
Anne FMemberI use hollywoodfeed.com — They have very similar prices to Chewy and the same free shipping over $49 deal. I’ve also found their customer service is really good, when I have had questions about my autoship delivery or even new products.
Lazaro BMemberHi everyone. I had no idea chewy.com was bought by Petsmart until I saw the email I got today and from Pitluv answering my feedback here on Dog Food Advisor. I guess I’ll be buying from another retailer that sells Fromm and keep using chewy.com for other things. This is what the response was by Fromm:
Loyal Fromm Customer,
Thank you for reaching out to Fromm Family Foods. We sincerely appreciate your feedback and interest in the current situation with Chewy.
Fromm Family Foods has a history of selling our products to independent pet retailers. We are very disappointed that Chewy.com has been purchased by PetSmartĀ® and for this reason, Chewy.com is no longer an authorized retailer of Fromm products.
If you would like to find a local, authorized retailer, please use the following link:
https://www.frommfamily.com/retailers/usa/In addition, we have other Premier online retailers that you can purchase from, such as:
http://www.gofromm.com
http://www.petflow.com
http://www.hollywoodfeed.com
http://www.dogfooddirect.com
For an up to date list of online retailers, please visit: https://www.frommfamily.com/retailers/internetWe sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and for that reason, weāve created a special offer for you. Fromm Family Foods Customer Service Team
SusanParticipantHi
I don’t understand the problem why cause Chewy has been sold & PetSmart has bought Chewy out why is this a bad thing?? if Chewy’s customer service stays the same & is still good & they have foods that move quickly & are stored properly who cares??I like pet stores that move their pet foods quickly, I live Australia & feed American kibbles only cause the American brands seems to works the best with my boys IBD, I’d prefer to feed Australian made pet foods with fresh Australian & New Zealand ingredients but the Australian kibbles do not add the probiotics & they add fish & salmon oils, for some reason Patch doesn’t do well with his IBD, so Patch eats American made…
I as soon as Patches delivery comes which is going to be this morning, Patch opens the box gets out his treats or toy I have bought for him & I read the use by date on the bag of kibble, a good use by date should be around 18 months, this means it has just come off the ship & hasn’t had any time to sit in a hot warehouse somewhere it’s fresher then a kibble sitting in a pet warehouse that only has a 6 month use by date, go with a pet food company that moves their foods the quickest, if you know of a local pet shop in your area that has your dog food look at the use by dates & how quick the food is moving & support a small local business first as all small business are being taken over by big companies.. Is Pet Smart a big company??..pitloveParticipantSusan, Yes here in the states PetSmart is a big chain store. A lot of people choose not to support them.
Theresa GMemberGood morning! Like many we have one hungry puppy. I have found http://www.njpetsupply.com for anyone looking to stick with their fromm or orijen dog food (among many other brands). They offer the lowest price fromm allows to be sold at and free shipping to the tri state area as well. They ship to the entire US. They are independently owned for over 25 years. I spoke to them and they are gladly welcoming any new customers who have been displaced by the chewy and petsmart merger. Fromm, orijen and other top name dog foods truly do care about us, and I am thankful to have a high quality dog food still avail at the lowest price!
http://Www.njpetsupply.com is where we will be ordering from goijg forward!
