April 7th, 2025 – Petdine is voluntarily recalling eight different Zesty Paws Soft Chews products due to a potential contamination of Salmonella.
The treats and supplements, which include Zesty Paws Senior Advanced Probiotics Bites Gut Health and Zesty Paws Allergy & Immune Bites (see full list below), were recalled on February 17th, 2025 for possible Salmonella contamination.
The consignment was shipped to one consignee in Illinois, with no further distribution.
The FDA did not release a press release regarding these Class I recalls, but there is more information on its website regarding which products are being recalled.

What to do?
Consumers who have purchased any of these products are urged to return to the place of purchase or destroy the food in a way that children, pets, and wildlife cannot access.
Do not sell or donate the recalled products. Do not feed the recalled product to pets or any other animals. Wash and sanitize pet food bowls, cups, and storage containers.
Always ensure you wash and sanitize your hands after handling recalled food or any utensils that come in contact with recalled food.

Healthy people infected with Salmonella should monitor themselves for some or all of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever. Rarely, Salmonella can result in more serious ailments, including arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation, and urinary tract symptoms. Consumers exhibiting these signs after having contact with this product should contact their healthcare providers.
Pets with Salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some pets will have only a decreased appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. Infected but otherwise healthy pets can be carriers and infect other animals or humans. If your pet has consumed the recalled product/s and has these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian.
This recall is being made with the knowledge of the Food and Drug Administration.
Reporting pet food problems
The FDA encourages consumers to report complaints about pet food products electronically through the Safety Reporting Portal. Additionally, consumers can visit the SmartHub – Safety Intake Portal – Report a Product Problem (fda.gov) to obtain electronic assistance with submitting a report.
Canadians can report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
