November 1, 2012 – Charlee Bear Products is voluntarily recalling certain lots of its Protein Crunch Bar products because they may be contaminated with Salmonella.
The event was reported by the company in a news release dated November 1, 2012.
According to the company, there have been no reported animal or human illnesses related to these products.
The Protein Crunch Bar dog treats were distributed nationally in September and October 2012.
The recall has been confirmed in an official FDA news bulletin.

This event applies only to the above-listed lots of Charlee Bear Protein Crunch Bars.
According to the company’s news release…
The potential for contamination was noted after a finished product sample of Protein Crunch Bars Chicken Recipe with Carrots (Lot no. 19812) tested positive for the presence of Salmonella.
Charlee Bear is recalling that lot number and, out of an abundance of caution, the additional lot numbers identified above, all of which are manufactured by a contract manufacturer that is not otherwise involved in the production of any other products in the Charlee Bear line.
