Salmonella can affect animals eating the product, and humans are at risk from handling contaminated products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products.
Recalled products should not be sold, donated, or fed to pets or other animals. To ensure safety, wash and sanitize all pet food bowls, cups, storage containers, and any surfaces exposed to the product, and thoroughly wash your hands after handling the food or related utensils.
Salmonella can affect both humans and pets. Healthy individuals infected with Salmonella may experience symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (sometimes bloody), abdominal cramping, and fever. In rare cases, the infection can lead to more severe conditions like arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation, or urinary tract issues. If you develop symptoms after contact with this product, seek medical advice immediately.
Pets infected with Salmonella may show signs like lethargy, diarrhea (sometimes bloody), fever, vomiting, or abdominal pain, though some may only have a decreased appetite. Infected pets can also spread the infection to other animals or humans, even if they appear healthy. If your pet displays symptoms after consuming the product, consult a veterinarian promptly.
