October 27 2023 — Blue Ridge Beef has voluntarily recalled its Breeders Choice #2 dog food due to potential Salmonella contamination.
What caused the recall?
The recall was initiated by a sample of the impacted product testing positive for Salmonella.
There have been no confirmed illnesses linked to the ingestion of one of the products in question.
No other Blue Ridge Beef products are impacted by this recall.

What’s recalled?
Breeders Choice 2# Dog Food, distributed between 8/9/2023 and 8/25/2023. This product was packaged in clear plastic and sold primarily in retail stores located in the following States: Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. The affected products contained the below lot numbers and expiration dates:

What to do?
If you have purchased a product with a lot code or expired date listed above, we recommend that you dispose of any impacted products immediately.
If your dog has consumed any of the affected products, monitor them for adverse symptoms such as an upset stomach, vomiting or diarrhea. Contact your vet if you witness any signs of illness in your dog and mention the information above during the consultation.
Statement
Blue Ridge Beef is recalling its Breeders Choice 2# log dog food Lot# 8/2/24 UPC 8 54298 00193 1 due to Salmonella contamination. On October 27, 2023, the firm was notified by the Food & Drug Administration that the dog food tested positive for Salmonella. Salmonella can affect animals eating the products and there is risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products.

Blue Ridge Beef consumers who have purchased this product are urged to contact Blue Ridge Beef directly at [email protected] for a full refund or destroy the food in a way that children, pets, and wildlife cannot access.
