Ollie Dog Food is made up of two ranges – baked (dry) and fresh (wet) – which both receive the Dog Food Advisor’s highest rating, 5 stars.

These vet-designed foods are complete and balanced and suitable for dogs at all life stages. They are made from quality ingredients, which contain protein from human-grade meat sources, as well as recognizable grains, fruits and vegetables.

The fresh food range includes five formulas — turkey, chicken, beef, lamb and pork. The baked product line has two recipes – beef & sweet potato and chicken & carrot.  They all contain chelated minerals; minerals that have been chemically attached to protein and are therefore easier to absorb. Chelated minerals are usually found in better quality dog foods.

Is Ollie Dog Food Good?

Ollie was founded in 2016 and its dog foods are formulated in association with a team of experts in animal health, and food science including vet nutritionists Dr. Angela Rollins and Dr. Maryanne Murphy.

Bridget Meadows is Ollie’s head of food and holds a Master’s Degree in Food Science & Technology with a concentration in Food Microbiology. She has more than 20 years’ experience in the food industry, with 18 years in pet food covering innovation, product development, quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance roles within the pet food industry.

Bryan Angolia is the brand’s senior food engineer. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Nutrition with a concentration in Food Science and Product Development and is certified in Canine and Feline Nutrition by Southern Illinois University. Brian also has around 10 years of product development and nutrition experience (spanning human and pet foods).

Laura Ward, the Dog Food Advisor’s pet nutritionist, is in no doubt that the team’s expertise is what helps make Ollie dog food so good.

She said: “We’re confident of the high level of nourishment provided through Ollie foods. The recipes are formulated in association with vets and nutritionists to ensure they are complete and balanced

“Ollie is suitable for everyday feeding of healthy dogs, rather than being designed for particular veterinary conditions or ailments. That being said, good nutrition can support many areas of health, such as digestion and skin and coat health

“Ollie leans into this by offering health screenings to provide dog parents with information and recommendations of elements of their dog’s health — such as weight, dental and digestive health.”

But don’t just take our word for it . . . this is just what some customers had to say:

Our American Bulldog, Guinness, is the pickiest eater. We tried every kind of food, wet, dry, mixed, and I even cooked for him every night. He still would not eat unless coerced. Since feeding him Ollie, he is excited and hungry and ready to eat every single night. He can’t wait for me to put the food in his bowl.

I love the ingredients, selection and informative articles. Our dog LOVES her meal times with Ollie dog food. She was always happy to eat but now she dances around and barks with joy. She seems more energetic and looks great (she is a 10 year old pittie with bad back so it’s nice to see her smile) 🙂

Ollie Fresh Dog Food

Ollie Fresh Dog Food is the closest thing to feeding your dog human food. All five of the protein-packed fresh recipes are carefully crafted with whole foods and slow-cooked to maximize nutrition and flavor.

Ollie believes that a dog’s health, longevity and happiness starts with its food, and that the highest quality ingredients and manufacturing processes lead to the best nutrition.

Many pet parents who have switched to fresh food report noticeable improvements in their dog’s overall health and well-being. These anecdotal reports are supported by some scientific evidence suggesting that fresh food can be more digestible and nutrient-rich.

Laura said: “Real, fresh, less processed foods are superior both in taste and nutrition and the palatability of Ollie fresh food means it is ideal for even the pickiest of eaters.”

The fresh food is frozen and vacuum-packed, without using any preservatives or chemicals and can be stored for us to six months unopened in a freezer. You can defrost the packs in the refrigerator and the food will be good to serve for up to four days.

Ollie Puppy Food

Ollie baked and fresh dog foods all meet the AAFCO nutritional profile for All Life Stages — which means they are suitable for growing puppies, as well as dogs.

These recipes contain all the ingredients your puppy needs for health and wellness. They are gently cooked to preserve nutrients, moisture, and of course, flavor

Laura said: “One of the main benefits of feeding a puppy Ollie dog food is the fact it is made with fewer ingredients. This can be useful if your puppy has sensitivities as it could help you identify what might be causing the issue.”

The recipes also contain antioxidant-rich ingredients, such as blueberries, spinach, and kale to support your puppy’s developing immune system along with fish oil for healthy brain development.

If you are a new pet parent you will have a lot of concerns about finding the best food for your puppy. But Ollie’s personalized meal plans provide confidence that you’re receiving precise nutrition at each stage of your puppy’s growth journey.

When you sign up, you’ll be asked a series of questions about your puppy’s age, breed, weight and activity level and you will receive precisely measured portions, delivered straight to your door, to meet your puppy’s needs. As your puppy grows, simply provide Ollie with updated information, and the serving sizes will be adjusted.

Ollie Dog Food Ingredients

Ollie’s human-grade beef, chicken, turkey, and pork are sourced in the United States, while its lamb comes from the U.S., New Zealand, and Australia.

All fresh ingredients (including potatoes, carrots, blueberries, and chickpeas) are sourced from the U.S. While some seeds and vitamins are sourced globally, all Ollie food meets the US standards required for “human-grade designation.

The food is made at several kitchens in the U.S. which are certified Safe Quality Food (SQF) facilities with human-grade standards to ensure the dog food is as good as your own.
